Terms of use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Free to use for learning and practice. The content is educational, generated from theory rules, and comes without warranties.
What this site is
Piano Chord Geek is a free educational reference for piano chords. Chord notes, diagrams and explanations are generated from interval formulas through a spelling algorithm, cross-checked against standard theory references, but they are a learning aid, not a substitute for a teacher or a published method.
Acceptable use
- Use the pages, audio playback and downloadable MIDI files for personal learning, teaching and making music.
- Don't scrape or bulk-copy the whole generated site to republish it as your own, and don't present the content as your own work.
- Don't attempt to disrupt the site or misrepresent yourself when contacting us.
Accuracy and availability
We take care with the theory engine and verify formulas against multiple references, but music spelling has edge cases and mistakes are possible. If you spot one, please tell us. The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, and may change or go offline at any time.
Intellectual property
Chord spellings and theory facts themselves are not ownable. The site's generated diagrams, text, synthesized audio behavior and design are ours. MIDI files you download are yours to use in your own music without restriction or attribution.
Third-party services
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and are served through Cloudflare. Those services apply their own terms and privacy policies to the technical data they process. See the privacy policy for details.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using or being unable to use the site, including practicing a chord we happened to spell interestingly.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; the date above shows the latest version, and continued use of the site means you accept the current terms. Questions: contact page or [email protected].
